Copper Brazing Rods
The use of copper brazing is for when greater joint strength is needed or for systems that operate at 350 degrees or higher. Typical uses include: Fire protection. Air-conditioning and refrigeration.
Copper Brazing Rods are of 2 types
- BCup
- BAG
BCup Copper Brazing Rods
The most commonly used brazing filler metal types, used to join copper tube and fittings fall into two distinct categories: BCuP Alloy (pronounced b-cup) – where the B stands for Brazing, Cu is the chemical symbol for Copper, and P is the chemical symbol for Phosphorous. BCuP series brazing filler metal has good elector conductivity at the joined points, good mechanical properties, and good anti-corrosion properties against acid and it has weakness for iron.

Products Available
Solbraze-BCup-2 (0% Silver) Copper Phosphorus Brazing Rod.
BCuP-2 Phos-Copper (BCuP-2) low cost alloy is suitable for most copper-to-copper or brass joints where good fit-up exists, and the assemblies are not subject to vibration or movement. Developed primarily for use on copper, this alloy may also be used on other nonferrous copper base alloys. By virtue of its phosphorus content, this product is self-fluxing on copper only applications.
Typical Applications: Applications refrigeration units, electrical conductors, copper and brass fittings, air conditioning apparatus, copper and brass equipment
*Flux should be used when brazing brass or bronze with this product.
Solbraze-BCup-6 (2% Silver) Copper Phosphorus Brazing Rod
BCuP-6 is a low cost brazing filler metal suitable for joining copper to copper and copper to copper alloys where critical impact or vibration stresses are not encountered in service. It should be used on assemblies where good fit-up can be maintained.
Typical Applications: Applications refrigeration units, electrical conductors, copper and brass fittings, air conditioning apparatus, copper and brass equipment
.
Solbraze-BCup-6 (2% Silver) Copper - Zinc Phosphrous Brazing Rod.
Copper-zinc brazing filler metals are mainly used in fast-heating brazing processes such as flame brazing, high frequency induction brazing and resistance brazing.
It is used to braze copper, copper alloys, steels, cast iron and cemented carbide.
Contaminants on the surface, such as grease and oxides must be removed thoroughly before brazing.
Addition of flux is necessary during brazing in order to obtain optimal brazed joints.
Copper Brazing (BAG)
We offer a wide range of cadmium/cadmium-free brazing alloys which have an excellent combination of melting range, capillary flow and mechanical properties. These alloys are recommended as economical alloys where the presence of cadmium is acceptable. Whereas we are also offering a range of cadmium free alloys, keeping in view the requirements of our end users, which mainly consist of food and beverage industry. These alloys are suitable for use on most ferrous and non-ferrous materials. We offer numerous material compositions for general purpose and specialty applications, which are available in strip, wire, rod or ring form.
